Overview

Optimax® glass bonding UV adhesives deliver optically clear, structurally robust bonds for glass-to-glass and glass-to-metal assemblies. Grades 3088, 3116, 3806, 3127, 3111, and 3509 address a broad spectrum of glass bonding requirements — from high-strength structural applications to optical assembly and decorative glazing.

Glass is inherently transparent to UV and visible wavelengths, making it an ideal substrate for UV adhesive systems. The light passes directly through the glass to cure the adhesive at the interface, enabling fast, precise cure without clamping forces or heat. Fast curing, exceptional optical clarity, and long-term durability make Optimax® glass bonding adhesives trusted by UK and EU manufacturers across automotive, architectural, optical, and display sectors.

Key Benefits

  • High optical clarity — no hazing or discolouration
  • Strong structural adhesion and long-term bond durability
  • Excellent moisture and environmental resistance
  • Fast, controlled UV cure — eliminates extended fixture times
  • Suitable for glass-to-glass, glass-to-metal, and glass-to-plastic joints

Grade Highlights

Grade 3088 is a medium-high viscosity structural adhesive that regularly achieves substrate failure in tensile testing — the glass breaks before the bond does. It is the recommended choice for structural and impact-resistant assemblies. Lower viscosity grades suit wicking applications and precision optical bonding where minimal adhesive volume is required.

Applications

  • Glass-to-glass bonding — decorative, structural, and furniture
  • Automotive glass assemblies — windshields and light housings
  • Architectural and structural glazing
  • Optical lens and prism bonding
  • Display and touchscreen manufacturing
  • Medical diagnostic and laboratory glass components
  • Glass-to-plastic bonding — PMMA, polycarbonate
  • Industrial electronics, lighting, and appliance sectors
