Overview

Optimax® plastic bonding UV adhesives provide a clean, rapid bonding solution for joining plastic components across a wide range of polymer substrates. Grades 5311, 5806, 5088, 5326, and 5509 are formulated for UV or visible light cure, delivering precise component alignment and strong, durable adhesion without solvents, heat, or extended fixture times.

Transparent and translucent plastics are ideal substrates — the UV light passes through the part to cure the adhesive at the bond interface without requiring access from the side. For opaque plastic assemblies, dual cure grades ensure full polymerisation regardless of light access.

Manufacturers use Optimax® plastic bonding adhesives in electronics housings, medical devices, automotive components, and consumer products where aesthetics, precision, and throughput are all critical.

Key Benefits

  • Clean, aesthetically invisible bond lines — no squeeze-out or hazing
  • Rapid UV or visible light cure — instant fixture, immediate handling
  • Strong adhesion to polycarbonate, acrylic, ABS, PET, and other plastics
  • 100% solids — no solvents, no VOCs
  • Low thermal load — no heat stress on plastic substrates
  • Controlled positioning before cure for precision assemblies

Grade Selection

Grade 5311 is a low-viscosity option suited to thin bond lines and wicking applications. Grade 5088 offers medium viscosity with impact resistance for structural plastic joints. Grade 5509 delivers high strength combined with flexibility for assemblies subject to differential thermal expansion or mechanical shock.

Applications

  • Electronics housings and enclosures
  • Consumer and household product assembly
  • Medical device and diagnostic equipment
  • Automotive and aerospace interior components and sensors
  • Industrial plastic-to-metal and plastic-to-glass assemblies
